Leakster: the OnePlus 12 will have a 6.82″ display with 2,600 nits brightness

The upcoming OnePlus 12 will have a display with peak brightness that’s double that of the OnePlus 11 display – it will reach 2,600 nits, according to leakster Digital Chat Station. At low brightness levels the display will use high-frequency PWM dimming at 2,160Hz.

The display will be slightly larger at 6.82” (up from 6.7”) while the aspect ratio will go down to 19.8:9 (from 20:9) as the panel will have a resolution of 1,440 x 3,168px. We’ve seen CAD-based renders of the new model, which show that the display is curved (slightly more than the OnePlus 11, by the looks of it).

The new panel will be manufactured by BOE, whereas the old one was made by Samsung. It will still be an LTPO panel with 120Hz refresh rate.

DCS also writes that the top configuration of the OnePlus 12 will have 24GB of RAM and 1TB storage. The old model tops out at 16GB/512GB, but the company already has a 24GB/1TB device (the Ace 2 Pro), so that’s not too surprising.

The OnePlus 12 is expected to be unveiled in China this December with a global launch coming soon after in January. The phone will use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, of course, and it will have a redesigned camera with a 50MP main camera (Sony IMX966 that promises 1” level of quality), 48MP ultra wide and a 3x periscope. The new flagship will also increase the battery capacity to 5,400mAh (+400mAh over its predecessor) and reintroduce wireless charging (at 50W, plus 100W wired charging).
